Coven Chronicles

It’s not rocket science, folks, just the recipe my mom always used from some ancient cookbook. I usually make a double batch. When the pack is involved, I make TWO double batches.

    1/3 cup Crisco
    1/3 cup butter, softened
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1.5 cups flour
    1/2 a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cream the shortening, butter, and sugars. Mix in the egg and the vanilla. Add the salt and baking soda, mixing well. Throw in the flour, and stir until combined. Last, add the chocolate chips.

Bake at 375, for 11 minutes. Trust me, these are best a little underdone. Don’t let them get too brown, or they’ll be crispy. And that’ll suck.

Is that the double batch version or the single batch version?

    This is the single batch.
